Comparison

Verimail vs Emailable

Two email verification APIs for the form, side by side: what one call returns, what it costs, and how each handles an address the mail server will not confirm.

Emailable (Emailable, LLC) is an email verification platform with an API, a bulk verifier, a real-time widget for web forms, deliverability tools and a long list of integrations. Verimail is an email verification API and file verifier from Verimail Ltd, built around one rule: a result is a conclusive verdict with its reason, or an honest unknown that costs nothing.

Both check an address's syntax, its domain and its mailbox with the receiving mail server, and both answer with one of four states: deliverable, undeliverable, risky or unknown. This page is for a developer choosing an API to validate addresses as they are typed into a signup, checkout or lead form. Every fact about Emailable comes from the pages linked above; check them before you decide.

Catch-all domainsrisky, reason domain_catch_all. A random address and yours are both tested, so a full or dead mailbox on a catch-all domain still gets its own verdict. BilledThe accept-all check is off by default (accept_all=false, "heavily impacts API's response time"); when on, accept_all: true

Pricing

One-off packs from each pricing page. Emailable shows euros to a visitor in Europe and offers no currency switch, so its column is in euros as shown; the US dollar figures are to verify.

Where the two are the same

  • The same four states, each with a named reason.
  • Disposable, role and free-provider flags, and a suggested correction for typos.
  • Neither charges for an unknown result, and both delete data after 30 days.
  • Credits never expire on either.

Where Emailable has more

  • A drop-in widget, client libraries, a test key, a batch API with callbacks and a long list of integrations.
  • Deliverability tools beyond verification: inbox reports and blocklist monitors.
  • A score, and guessed name, gender and birth year fields, if your use case wants them.

Where Verimail differs

  • The mail server's own reply on request, so a rejected user can be explained from the response.
  • One answer per call: a slow server comes back as an unbilled unknown inside your timeout (up to 45 s) rather than an HTTP 249 to retry.
  • The catch-all test is always performed; a billed field and a suggested action in every answer.
  • A smaller smallest purchase (1,000 credits), a free tier that renews monthly, and a lower price per thousand at every pack size in the table.
